Job summary

A prominent communication systems provider is seeking a full-time installation tech in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will install in-building communications equipment and vehicle systems, including two-way radios and GPS. Candidates with experience in vehicle audio and security systems will be preferred. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and should be comfortable with hand tools and performing troubleshooting tasks. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install mobile radios and vehicle lighting systems.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation.

Golden State Communications Inc. is currently seeking a full-time installation tech. You will be responsible for installing in-building communications equipment and vehicle installations. Equipment being installed includes 2 way radios, GPS, Lightbars, Charge Guards and RF systems which include repeaters, antennas, BDA and other associated equipment, Public Safety (Police, Fire, EMS) vehicle installation background preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of mobile radios, vehicle lighting, controls, GPS and other similar technologies.
  • Removing interior of new vehicles (seats, dash, interior panels, headliners and lights in preparation of new installations.
  • Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles as needed
  • Complete installations for diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, commercial trucks and buses
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain and track materials for jobs.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Experience or knowledge of the following a plus:
  • Vehicle Audio Systems
  • Vehicle Security Systems
  • Experience in or basic knowledge of installation and troubleshooting two-way radios, warning lights, and other public safety vehicular equipment is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Must be able to complete all required paperwork: service orders, work logs, etc., and document all installation activities
  • Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.
  • Ability to succeed in an often fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Comfortable using Hand Tools, Volt Meter, Power Tools and other related tools.
  • Knowledge of basic automotive wiring
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Background check is part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
