Golden State Communications Inc. is currently seeking a full‑time installation technician. You will be responsible for installing in‑building communications equipment and vehicle installations. Equipment being installed includes 2‑way radios, GPS, lightbars, charge guards, and RF systems which include repeaters, antennas, BDA and other associated equipment. Public safety (Police, Fire, EMS) vehicle installation background is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Installation of mobile radios, vehicle lighting, controls, GPS and other similar technologies.
- Removing interior of new vehicles (seats, dash, interior panels, headliners, and lights in preparation for new installations).
- Installing electrical wiring, connecting electrical fittings, drilling holes, soldering, and performing all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles as needed.
- Completing installations for a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, commercial trucks, and buses.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment as necessary.
- Maintaining and tracking materials for jobs.
- Completing all required paperwork and documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge of the following is a plus:
- Vehicle audio systems
- Vehicle security systems
- Experience in or basic knowledge of installation and troubleshooting two‑way radios, warning lights, and other public safety vehicular equipment is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Must be able to complete all required paperwork (service orders, work logs, etc.) and document all installation activities.
- Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.
- Ability to thrive in an often fast‑paced environment, establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Comfortable using hand tools, volt meter, power tools, and other related tools.
- Knowledge of basic automotive wiring.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Background check is part of the hiring process, which may include a motor vehicle record check.
