Job summary

Hiab is seeking a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, and refurbishments on a range of material handling equipment at Hiab locations. You will diagnose issues, stay current with technical bulletins, and maintain thorough service records while promoting Hiab standards.

The role requires a 1-year DOT Medical Card, a valid driver’s license, and 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations, with tools provided by you.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
• Own tools required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, upgrades and refurbishment) on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders and hoists.
• Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
• Stay up to date with technical developments and complete courses when instructed by District Service Manager.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab guidelines.
• Keep records, maintain documentation, and submit daily reports as directed.
• Identify sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Promote Hiab brand positively and follow the Quality System.
