Job summary

Vermeer Midwest in Fishers, IN is seeking a Service Technician – Heavy Equipment to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy machinery. The role requires diagnosing electrical/hydraulic issues and performing preventative maintenance with a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience repairing heavy equipment or completion of a formal technical training program.
• CDL Class B or higher preferred.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty equipment such as directional drills, trenchers, brush chippers, excavators, aerial lifts, and more.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using computerized tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools.
• Clean, lubricate, test, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Complete service tickets and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate repair status with customers and collaborate with fellow technicians as needed.
• Fill in as a Field Service Tech on an as needed basis.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Agricultural experience
• Hands-on experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and time management skills.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• CDL Class B or higher preferred
