JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform high-quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined during servicing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receive repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
2. Perform work in order, timely and thoroughly, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
3. Advise Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
4. Determine if further repairs or servicing should be recommended and communicate this to the Shop Foreman.
5. Maintain training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques.
6. Attend training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
7. Perform additional repairs if returned due to faulty workmanship.
8. Keep accurate work order records of work performed and time logged.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 years of experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and skills.
• VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Valid Class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain one.
• Paccar, Cummins, and CAT Certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Personal motivation and self-reliance.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions.
