Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. in Kent, WA is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to install and service commercial systems on site. You will work with brazing, piping, and commissioning of RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, and related equipment.

The role requires a minimum of five years’ experience, a valid Universal CFC certification, strong safety practices, and the ability to read schematics and perform preventive maintenance. Local union benefits apply; this is a full-time onsite position.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience maintaining commercial HVAC equipment.
• Current Universal CFC certification is required.
• Experience with ladders, roofs and attics.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
• Understand basic electrical circuits and wiring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safe use of hand tools and testing devices.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders at heights.
• Wears PPE (dust mask, gloves, eye/hearing protection).

Responsibilities

• Install and service HVAC units, brazing, line sets, refrigerant charging.
• Install piping including drains, water lines, gas lines, valves and actuators.
• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors and related equipment.
• Start up, test and commission RTUs, Air Handlers, VAVs and FCUs.
• Test lines and joints for leaks; repair as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

About Us

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and adding charge.

• Install piping systems to include but not limited to drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines valves and actuators

• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.

• Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTU’s, Air Handlers, VAV’s, Fan Coil units, swamp coolers and other Commercial HVAC Equipment

• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks, brazing and soldering parts as necessary to repair defective joints.

• Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification

• Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics.

• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

• Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.

• Strong oral and written communication required.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.

• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.

• Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.

• Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.

• Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights.

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $55.24 - $76.43 Per Hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results.

Benefits are provided through local labor union aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
