Job summary

Pavion in Matthews, NC is seeking a talented Service Technician to join our fire, security, and critical communications service team. You will service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems, diagnose failures, replace components, and provide remote tech support to customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience in installing or servicing fire/burglar alarm, CCTV and access control systems, with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years’ experience in installing or servicing burglar alarm, fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Knowledgeable about fire alarm and security systems; able to troubleshoot, repair and inspect.
• Regular driving to customer and project sites; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures to identify repairs.
• Replace system components such as panels and alarms.
• Provide remote technical support to customers for signal issues.
• Interact professionally with customers and coordinate with manager/dispatcher.
• Inform dispatcher/manager about service status for action.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Service Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service, Program, Test, and Inspect Fire Alarm Systems
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years’ experience in installing or servicing burglar alarm, fire alarm, closed circuit television, access control systems
• Knowledgeable about working on fire alarm and security systems. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting
• This position requires regular driving to customer and project sites. A valid driver’s license is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• NICET II Certification
• Alarm System Notifier experience including troubleshooting and programming

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00–$40.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
