Job summary

Pavion Corp is seeking a dedicated Service Technician for our fire systems division. You will service, troubleshoot, and program burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control systems across the Roanoke region.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and proactive customer support. You will diagnose issues, replace components, and provide remote and on-site assistance while coordinating with management to efficiently complete work orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years Burglar Alarm Service experience.
• 2+ years CCTV/IP-CCTV Service experience.
• 2+ years Access Control Service experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and use ladders.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to travel within Richmond/Virginia Beach markets.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot & program burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures to identify repairs.
• Replace system components as assigned (panels, alarms, etc.).
• Provide technical support to customers including remote diagnosis.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager/dispatcher to complete service and work orders.
• Inform status of service to dispatcher/manager for action.
• Perform test and inspection of fire alarm systems.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Service Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service, Troubleshoot & program burglar alarms, fire alarms, closed circuit television, & access control systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
• Perform test and inspect fire alarm systems
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of Burglar Alarm Service Experience
• 2+ years of CCTV/ IP-CCTV Service Experience
• 2+ years of Access Control Service Experience
• The ability to carry and climb step/extension ladders where needed and lift objects up to 50 pounds when needed
• Valid Driver Licenses required
• Must be able to demonstrate basic computer/tablet skills
• Same day travel required, technician will be working Richmond/Virginia Beach markets mainly

Preferred Qualifications:

• NICET Certification
• Manufacturer certifications preferred (ex. Siemens, Notifier, Honeywell, Bosch)

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00-$40.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
