Job summary

Bayway Auto Group is seeking a Service Tech Level 1 in Pasadena, TX to diagnose and repair vehicles. This full-time role requires experience in automotive repair and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.

You will perform routine maintenance, provide estimates, and maintain service records. The position reports to the Service Manager and is based in person at Pasadena, TX.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as auto technician (hands-on repair and maintenance).
• 3+ years automotive repair experience required.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical/electrical/electronic systems.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic methods/systems.
• CDK experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle various hand/tools and heavy equipment.
• Commitment to safety procedures and protective measures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues.
• Inspect vehicle computers and electronic systems for repairs/maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance (fluids, lubrication) to sustain vehicle function.
• Schedule and advise on future maintenance with customers.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and fix leaks.
• Provide accurate repair/maintenance estimates (cost, time, effort).
• Maintain logs of all work and repairs.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition.

Position Summary

Classification: Full Time

Reports To: Service Manager

Work Locations: In person; Pasadena, TX

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
• Inspect vehicle computers and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
• Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
• Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
• Keep logs on work/repairs
• Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven experience as auto technician
• At least 3+ years' experience in Automotive Repair
• Valid ASE Certification is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• CDK experience preferred
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

Relevant Work Experience & Other Requirements :

• Must meet dealerships requirements for employment which include background check and drug screening
• Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable based on driving record.
• Must have minimum of three years of driving history
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
• Must be punctual and reliable
