Job summary

Bay Ridge Honda, an established Brooklyn dealership, seeks an Automotive Service Sales Manager to lead and develop our service advisor team. This is a hands-on role, not an office position, requiring active daily involvement in operations.

You will coach advisors, drive maintenance sales, manage follow-up, and ensure accurate customer updates while promoting profitable service opportunities. Expect accountability and strong teamwork to improve customer care.

Responsibilities

Bay Ridge Honda is looking for an experienced, hands-on Automotive Service Sales Manager to lead and develop our service advisor team.

This is not a position for someone who wants to manage from an office. We need a strong leader who can stay involved in the daily operation, hold advisors accountable, communicate with customers, and make sure every opportunity receives the proper follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee, coach, and support the service advisor team.
• Monitor open repair orders, customer updates, and advisor follow-up.
• Contact customers regarding declined and previously recommended work.
• Help advisors present repairs and maintenance clearly and confidently.
• Handle escalated customer concerns and resolve issues professionally.
• Follow up with technicians and managers to keep repairs moving.
• Ensure customers receive accurate updates and realistic completion times.
• Track advisor performance, sales, gross profit, CSI, and other key metrics.
• Review inspections and repair recommendations for missed opportunities.
• Promote available payment options when appropriate.
• Maintain accountability for appointments, workflow, callbacks, and customer communication.
• Help create a consistent process from customer arrival through vehicle pickup.
• Build a culture focused on hospitality, teamwork, urgency, and results.

What We Are Looking For:

• Automotive service advisor or service management experience.
• Strong sales, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to sell maintenance and repair recommendations.
• Ability to coach advisors and hold the team accountable.
• Strong follow-up and organizational skills.
• Comfortable handling difficult customer situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with advisors, technicians, and management.
• Experience with dealership management systems, preferably Reynolds and Reynolds.
