This is a key, high-impact position that makes a difference in the world. At Leybold, we help advance the world’s technology by helping companies push the boundaries of their own capabilities. In this position, you will work with applications engineers, product engineers, and account managers to design and offer Leybold service and solutions that help clients supercharge their process efficiencies. This position acts as the service sales liaison between the Leybold factory and the client, with the intent to teach companies how to maximize the lifecycle of their equipment through the VTS Service Ladder.

Main Responsibilities
  • This position involves a mix of time in the home office and on-site work at some of the world's most technologically advanced factories to demonstrate to engineers and management how to maximize the life of their equipment by teaching and promoting the VTS Service Ladder.
  • Promote company service products (Service Ladder) by understanding failure modes and working to offer customers service product options that can mitigate downtime and/or failure of the equipment to maximize the COO while delivering a positive customer experience within a geographic region, including markets like metallurgy, materials, architectural glass, energy, space, aerospace, automotive, and more.
  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy to expand business in a geographical region, including current clients and new opportunities for Leybold products and services.
  • Provide outstanding technical support, service, and product selection assistance to delight customers.
  • Maintain company property (vehicle, computer, equipment, demo/loaner products, stock) in your control and at customer sites.
  • Primary responsibility for selling the Leybold Services Product range.
  • Support the equipment sales team by conducting operational reviews at accounts to secure repeat orders and differentiate services to penetrate new business.
  • Prepare and deliver service sales presentations as needed.
  • Focus on developing new business from customers with unserviced, lost, or newly installed pumps, or from competitive equipment.
  • Analyze customer needs and coordinate with internal teams to provide comprehensive vacuum after-sales service solutions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical requirements include regular exposure to mechanical parts, outdoor weather, fumes, airborne particles, and occasional high places or chemicals. The noise level is usually loud. Employees must sit, stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. This is a remote position requiring travel approximately 50% of the time, often overnight.

Responsibility for a defined budget, no direct reports, and interaction with multiple stakeholders.

Skills, Knowledge, and Education
  • Engineering/science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in lead generation, customer-facing roles, and technical communication.
  • Ability to create custom solutions and work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
Other Requirements
  • Prospecting and sales mentality, technical background, high energy, quick learner, and ability to work independently.
  • Mechanical, vacuum, or fluid systems knowledge is a plus. Valid driver’s license required.
