Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical is seeking a Service Operations Manager to lead the commercial HVAC service department. You’ll own the P&L, drive revenue growth through maintenance renewals and repairs, and guide a skilled technician team to deliver quality work on time and within budget.

You will supervise field operations, coordinate with dispatch, ensure safety and compliance, and build lasting relationships with key accounts while advancing training and development through our programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial equipment (RTUs, split systems, boilers).
• EPA 608 Universal certification.
• Experience managing a department budget, P&L, or service sales.
• Experience with field service software (ServiceTitan, BuildOps, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own the service department P&L, including revenue, gross margin, and labor utilization.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain technicians; conduct performance reviews.
• Manage maintenance agreements and PM visits; ensure on-time completion within budget.
• Build strong relationships with key accounts and resolve customer issues quickly.
• Lead safety culture and manage inventory, fleet, and tools.
