Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, continuing course in Management also required.
• Minimum four years as a mechanic and at least 2 years as a shop foreman or lead mechanic.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to read computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and follow annual service budget with labor hours and profit goals.
• Develop and implement a Service marketing plan to generate labor sales.
• Recruit, screen, hire, and train Service personnel and develop them.
• Audit Service Department reports and employee performance monthly.
• Audit work orders for completeness and accuracy before billing.
• Schedule and assign jobs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with Sales and Parts to maximize dealership performance.
• Visit primary customers periodically to assess service needs and satisfaction.
• Ensure shop tools and equipment are maintained and available.
• Advise on purchases of Service vehicles to maintain profitable operation.
