Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising teams across departments and ensuring prompt, friendly service.

You will schedule staff, resolve customer issues, oversee merchandising, safety and compliance, and develop people to deliver measurable results in a fast-paced retail environment. You will train staff, manage conflicts, and uphold Hy-Vee policies while driving results and maintaining a positive store culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions across varied situations.
• Perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages accurately.
• Interview to obtain basic information, guide and direct people clearly, follow technical manuals, and maintain contact with customers and employees.
• Lead and develop a team while building a collaborative, customer-focused store culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations throughout the store.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules and assign duties to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Supervise store activities in the Department Manager's absence and perform essential duties at all levels.
• Train employees on store policies and procedures and provide ongoing education.
• Review personnel records and understand payroll basics.
• Handle cash registers and basic financial transactions.
• Adhere to Hy-Vee policies and guidelines and report to work on schedule.
