Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Service Manager to lead a Mobile Storage branch's maintenance team, improving reliability, safety and customer satisfaction.

You will hire and coach technicians, manage R&M and P&L, oversee parts, ensure DOT compliance, and drive continuous improvement with the branch manager.

The role requires a strong leadership background, a valid license, and a track record of reducing downtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; trade-school degree a plus; bachelor’s preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 5+ years service/maintenance experience and 3+ years supervisory.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L.
• Basic computer skills including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time and quality standards.
• Staff location based on skills and workload.
• Oversee R&M, P&L and related costs.
• Lead and measure service/maintenance performance metrics.
• Oversee parts department activities for customer service and cost control.
• Maintain knowledge of current DOT requirements.
• Promote safety culture and conduct regular training.
• Identify underperformers and provide coaching.
• Collaborate with Branch Manager to build a profitable location.
