Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group in Chicago seeks a Service Manager to join the operations team at Convene 311 W Monroe. The role reports to the General Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality service while maintaining profitability.

You will supervise culinary and service teams, coordinate between kitchens and event staff, ensure health and safety standards, and uphold service excellence across programs and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in a conference center or related field.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service standards and service types.
• Knowledge of food & beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and liquor laws.
• Be involved in and/or conduct ongoing training of service staff to maintain standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise culinary service setup for participants and ensure it follows the Program Execution Order.
• Supervise the service team and support staff, including setup, utilities, maintenance, and security.
• Coordinate culinary service between the culinary team and the service team.
• Keep the culinary informed of accurate counts.
• Review menu/service with production and culinary teams.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure sanitation of service areas.
