Knudtsen Foothills Mazda in Spokane, WA is seeking a Service Manager to lead and grow its fixed operations. This leadership role focuses on developing technicians, maintaining high standards, and driving profitability across the service department.

You will oversee a team including a Shop Foreman, dispatchers, and technicians, while implementing training paths and KPI-driven improvements to meet Mazda and Lincoln standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Service Manager or similar at a franchised dealership.
• Proven record of leading and developing technicians.
• Strong understanding of service department financials and KPIs.
• Experience with a dealer management system and digital inspection tools.
• Working knowledge of manufacturer warranty policies and procedures.
• Calm, direct communicator who can handle difficult conversations.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shop Foreman, dispatchers, service advisors and technicians with clear expectations.
• Build and run a written technician development path with timelines.
• Move B-level techs toward A-level and develop others into next tiers.
• Recruit technicians via trade schools, programs and referrals.
• Hold weekly one-on-ones and monthly performance reviews; coach as needed.
• Partner on workflow, load balancing and quality control; address issues promptly.
• Create a culture of retention, fair dispatching and visible pay paths.
• Model professionalism and integrity with customers and staff.
