Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related service, field service, or industrial experience; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to train, mentor, and manage teams
  • Strong electrical and technical knowledge, including: High and low voltage schematics, Industrial automation systems, PLC basics (Allen Bradley, Honeywell preferred), Drives, temperature controllers, and P&ID loops, Gas burner systems
  • Hands-on field service and troubleshooting experience required
  • Experience with tools and systems such as SolidWorks (or similar), Microsoft Office 365, and welding
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ISO 9001 procedures preferred
  • Ability to lift 30–40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, and kneeling
  • Ability to access all areas of a facility
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage service department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance oversight
  • Develop, implement, and monitor service plans, preventative maintenance programs, and service procedures
  • Coordinate and prioritize service requests, field service activities, and maintenance events
  • Troubleshoot and resolve service issues, providing on-site and remote technical support to customers
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including onsite visits and support (travel up to 20%)
  • Supervise field installations, repairs, and service projects to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Prepare and analyze service reports, performance metrics, and operational trends
  • Manage service budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships
  • Support sales activities, including quoting, equipment testing, and identifying upgrade opportunities
  • Oversee warranty processes, including parts shipments, returns, and vendor repairs
  • Conduct testing (e.g., temperature uniformity) and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify and implement product and process improvements
  • Train staff, field engineers, and customers on equipment, systems, and best practices
  • Promote and maintain quality standards, including ISO 9001 compliance
