Our Electric Operations and Construction team is hiring a journey or Master Electrician to join our team as a Service Line Electrician. In this position, you will support the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electric distribution service lines, including our streetlight emergency response, maintenance, and repair program of work on Fort Carson. This role will also be involved with responding to service requests tied to dropping overhead and underground secondary electrical systems so that work can be performed safely and reestablishing service lines. The starting pay rate for a Service Line Technician is $53.60/hr. Once the selected candidate has successfully completed probation (typically 6 months) the rate of pay will be adjusted to $56.29/hr.
The service line electrician will help perform and assist in the activities related to the construction, operations, and maintenance of the Fort Carson electric distribution system and transformer-fed streetlights.
Under the Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA), Colorado Springs Utilities is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of Fort Carson’s electric, gas, water and wastewater infrastructure. Pursuant to the IGSA, this position will support operations and maintenance of Fort Carson’s existing electric substations, distribution system up to and including switchgear, transformers, and streetlights fed from transformers in accordance with utilities' best practices.
This position will be part of an electric team that is responsible for managing the construction and maintenance of new developments, commercial construction, outage response, and providing construction crew oversight in both overhead and underground applications at Fort Carson under the IGSA. You will work onsite at Fort Carson but may be called to support Colorado Springs Utilities’ electric transmission and distribution system construction crews in the event a major emergency is transpiring, and more resources are needed.
Within this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for a wide variety of technical duties and will ensure that all activities adhere to Colorado Springs Utilities Safety Rules and Construction Standards. Additionally, the position requires regular interaction with numerous internal and external customers as well as, proficient management of resources, equipment, and personnel to ensure the successful completion, performance, and review of the electric work.
