Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks an Electrician at Fort Carson, CO. Role covers installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical equipment for generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy.

The position requires six years journey-level experience, a formal apprenticeship, and relevant licenses or certifications. Travel up to 25% and the ability to work from lifts/bucket trucks are essential. Public Trust clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years journey-level experience with a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Must maintain city/county/state electrical license(s) and/or certifications.
• Able to operate lifts/bucket trucks and work at heights.
• Must pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1).
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as exterior lighting, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Using electrician's hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.
• Procure quotes for replacement parts and equipment and document work performed and materials used.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

About the Role

The Electrician - Interior position performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

What You'll Be Doing

• Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as exterior lighting / circuits, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
• Will be responsible for working with vendors to procure quotes for replacement parts and equipment, will also be responsible for the proper documentation of work performed and materials used.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

What We're Looking For

• In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Must have a minimum of six (6) years journey-level experience and have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent formal vocational/technical training program on industrial electrical systems. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
• Must maintain required city/county/state license(s) and/or certification(s), where applicable.
• Must be able to operate and work from various lifts and bucket trucks.
• Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
• Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
• Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
• Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
• Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
• Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
• Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard
