Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Service Engineer Apprentice/Trainee in Grand Rapids, MI to join a leading manufacturing technology provider. The program includes classroom, factory, and online training, with hands-on support on service calls, installations, and moves across the Central Region.

The role progresses through a two-year, competency-based apprentice path toward certification and promotion to Service Engineer; travel with senior engineers and timely submission of reports are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic aptitude.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to support service activities in stressful situations.
• Professional communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal technical teams.
• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally for training and customer visits, including holding a current passport.

Responsibilities

• Complete classroom, factory, and online training, with passing scores of 80% or higher.
• Shadow Service Engineers on service calls by traveling with them to customer sites and learning through observation and hands-on assistance.
• Participate in training and development to learn repair, installation, and moving machines.
• Progress through a competency-based apprentice program enrolled for 2 years before certification and promotion to Service Engineer.
• Prepare and submit required technical documents and reports in a timely, disciplined manner.
