Job summary

CarMax in Laurel, MD is hiring a Service Operator to be the friendly, knowledgeable contact for customers in the Service Department. You will handle in-person and phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and aid service staff before, during, and after repairs.

You will thrive in a fast-paced setting, delivering outstanding customer service, accurate data entry, and effective communication while supporting multiple teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Deliver outstanding customer service to callers and walk-in customers.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication with strong listening skills.
• Accurate data entry and record-keeping, with intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to incoming service calls and messages.
• Assist Service Consultants and Customer Advisors with customer interactions as needed.
• Schedule service appointments and route calls/inquiries accurately.
• Provide timely written messages to appropriate team members for follow-up.
• Coordinate repair requests and reminders for appointments and parts arrivals.
• Audit sublet invoices, loaner logs, and dealer tags for CarMax guidelines.
• Maintain EH&S compliance and keep the work area clean and orderly.
