National Church Residences is seeking a Service Coordinator to advocate for seniors, coordinate programs across two buildings, and connect residents with community services. You will partner with local agencies, identify affordable providers, and engage residents to address needs.

A bachelor’s degree in social work is preferred and prior elder care experience is valued. This full-time role offers competitive benefits and opportunities to impact daily living for seniors across our housing

Job Description: Competitive Pay – Awesome Benefits! Work Type: Full Time– 35 hours per week Pay: $19.00 per hour Location: This position supports 2 buildings: Edgewood Village - 34 units, located at 40 Edgewood Ave., Richwood, WV 26261 Elk Riverview Terrace - 36 units, located at 1 South Main St., Weber Springs WV 26288 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 hour days, spending 3 days at one building and 2 days at the other, with a rotating schedule. Edgewood Village and Elk Riverview Terrace are senior apartment communities with a team of property management professionals that are unmatched in the area! National Church Residences is the nation’s largest provider of affordable senior housing and health care services. We are seeking Service Coordinators who will share our vision to advance better living and care for seniors!

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served
• Assume responsibility for coordinating programs and activities for residents
• Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers, and seek out new services available to residents.
• Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts.
• Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary
• Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers
• Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources.
• Provide quality customer service to all residents, addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs
• Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling
• Monitor, document, and relay any feedback or concerns from residents and their families
• Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Two or more years of experience delivering social services to elderly and/or family populations preferred.
• Working knowledge of supportive services and local community resources.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and deliver measurable results for residents.
