Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking an Assistant Manager, Service Center to translate network strategy into daily execution. You will coordinate across dock, linehaul, pickup and delivery, and admin functions to ensure throughput and service quality.

You will lead a high-performing team, hire and develop staff, monitor costs and margins, and resolve escalations while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction. Onsite Chicago, IL. Salary $90,000–$100,000 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of relevant operations or logistics management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supervising, developing, and evaluating operational teams.
• Knowledge of transportation, logistics and service center operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead service center execution across dock, linehaul, P&D, OS&D and office functions.
• Monitor revenue components, labor expenses, and operating metrics to improve margins.
• Investigate OS&D claims and resolve complex service disruptions with urgency.
• Direct hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff.
• Align department goals with company objectives and drive cross-functional initiatives.
