Job summary

Morrie’s Forest Lake CDJR is seeking a Service Advisor to greet customers, gather vehicle details, and coordinate repairs. You will inspect vehicles for bodywork needs, prepare estimates, and communicate timelines.

The role emphasizes accurate maintenance guidance, safe service delivery, and clear customer communication in a fast-paced dealership setting. Applicants should be able to handle inquiries, follow progress, and work with the service team to ensure quality, on-time vehicle completion.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to the problem description, collect vehicle information.
• Inspect vehicles for bodywork and notify if work is needed.
• Secure customer agreement before repairs; cover cost estimate and timeline.
• Advise customers on car care per manufacture specs using maintenance menus.
• Handle minor customer complaints and misunderstandings.
• Track repair progress and inform customers of changes in estimates or times.
• Manage telephone inquiries and return messages promptly.
• Deliver vehicles and explain charges and coverage to customers.
• Refer leads to sales departments and assist the service manager.
• Follow safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes and chemicals.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to the description of the problem, obtain customer and vehicle information
• Inspect all vehicles for bodywork, notify the customer if work is needed
• Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed
• Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacture's specifications, using maintenance menus
• Handle minor customer complaints and misunderstandings
• Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised
• Handle telephone inquiries and return phone messages promptly
• Deliver vehicles to customers and answer any questions, review work performed and explain charges and coverage
• Refer leads and prospects for vehicle sales to the new and pre-owned sales departments
• Assist the service manager as necessary
• Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt, dust and harsh chemicals
