Job summary

Pebble Beach is seeking a Server for The Lodge at Pebble Beach in the Tap Room. You will deliver prompt, courteous service for beverages and food, interact with guests, and work as part of a team to ensure guest satisfaction in a renowned resort environment.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, pouring wine, handling payments via Micros, maintaining station cleanliness, and assisting with events and buffets. RBS certifications and food safety knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Prompt, courteous service to guests in a high-end setting.
• Ability to work with floor and kitchen staff for timely service.
• Comfort with high-pressure environment and multitasking.
• Food safety and RBS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, introduce menu or buffet layout, and describe items.
• Take guests' food and drink orders and ensure timely service.
• Open wine bottles and pour; refill glasses as needed.
• Prepare guest checks using Micros POS and process payments correctly.
• Maintain clean, organized tables and stations; restock supplies.
• Set up and break down events and buffets and move furniture as needed.
• Transport food from kitchen to buffet and replenish utensils.

The Server provides prompt, courteous service of all beverages and food for guests. Interact with and serve guests food, beverages and wine in a professional and friendly manner, working as a team to ensure guest satisfaction.

• Stock side station with juices, tea, ice and waters.
• Set-up workstation tables with china, glass, silver, condiments, flowers and napkins.
• Greet guests, introduce menu or buffet layout and describe special items.
• Answer questions regarding style, presentation, quality and price of all food and beverages.
• Take the guests' food and drink orders.
• Open bottle and pour wine, refilling glasses for wine, water and other beverages as needed.
• Observe guests' progress and respond in a timely way to their needs.
• Strive to increase the guest check through suggestive sales techniques and alternatives.
• Prepare guest check, using Micros point of sale system, collect and process payment correctly.
• Maintain assigned table and station cleanliness, tidiness and order.
• Close side work by cleaning area, re-stocking supplies and refilling condiments.
• Prepare back kitchen, stock supplies, including bagels and muffins, make coffee and buff tables.
• Set-up and break down special events and buffets, to include moving furniture as necessary.
• Remove used dishes and maintain table during meal or buffet by replacing utensils as necessary and refolding napkins.
• Serve guests from buffet upon request.
• Transport food from kitchen to buffet table in restaurant, as needed.
• Ensure general housekeeping, including cleaning of fixtures, appliances, counters, dusting, and sweeping.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Possesses speed, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Courtesy and anticipation of guest’s needs are essential.
• Must be able to work as a team with entire floor staff and kitchen staff ensuring timely, efficient service.
• Ability to work in high pressure environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Food safety and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications.
