The role emphasizes teamwork, regulatory compliance, and daily administrative tasks to optimize service and profitability at The Inn at Spanish Bay.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a supervisor role, ideally in hotel/restaurant ops.
• Ability to work with others and manage staff under pressure.
• Proficient in office software and payroll handling.
• Qualified in food safety and RBS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting weekly employee schedules for approval.
• Provide input on recruitment, hiring, termination and promotions.
• Generate daily administrative paperwork (recaps, labor, orders).
• Counsel employees and handle disciplinary actions.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and monitor guest satisfaction.
• Resolve guest concerns on the floor or escalate to manager.
• Assist with training programs and service standards updates.
• Maintain facilities and equipment in dining areas.
• Suggest methods to increase sales and training efficacy.

The Assistant Manager for Peppoli restaurant will assist the Manager with daily operations and employee management to ensure guests’ dining pleasure and satisfaction.

• Assist in drafting weekly employee schedule for final approval by manager.
• Provide input to manager regarding recruitment, hiring, termination, promotion and evaluation of personnel.
• Generate daily administrative paperwork such as recaps, Eatec orders, daily labor, UKG edits.
• Counsel employees and follow through on all disciplinary action.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings (Huddles) to keep employees aware of daily restaurant and hotel activities.
• Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to determine guest satisfaction.
• Resolve guest concerns on the floor whenever possible or refer to manager for resolution.
• Assist with quarterly meetings to update service fundamentals and standards.
• Monitor the condition of all physical facilities and equipment in dining room and ensure their maintenance.
• Suggest new methods to increase sales and assist with training programs to accomplish sales objectives.
• Assist in the maintenance of accurate personnel records or leave requests.
• Uphold company standards of conduct, grooming, dress and personal hygiene.
• Assist Manager to complete payroll preparation including UKG and hours on computer sheet.
• Assist in the control of waste and labor expenses.
• Attend wine and food pairing seminars.
• Assist manager with preparation of profit/loss statement and research any discrepancies.
• Assist Manager in training new staff, implement training programs and, if used, in updating training menus.
• Attend mandatory manager meetings.
• Assist with special events.
• Actively book the Tuscan Room for corporate groups and local clients.
• Other projects as assigned by Manager.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years’ experience in a supervisor capacity, preferably in hotel restaurant operations.
• Must be a team player and able to work well with other managers and staff.
• Ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Management, basic office and organizational skills.
• SMS and Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Food safety and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications.

Desired Skills:

• Sommelier certification or Italian wine knowledge a plus.
• Experience in scheduling and with micro system or equivalent experience.
