Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts' Tide Coastal Kitchen at Port Everglades seeks a professional server to deliver exceptional poolside dining above the Intracoastal. You will greet guests, present menus, and ensure a memorable experience in line with Omni standards.

The role requires knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer, plus cash handling and MICROS proficiency, with a focus on guest satisfaction and accuracy. Weekend and holiday availability is needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• TIPS and ServSafe certifications required or to be obtained.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits and beer with selling experience.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Clear, pleasant English communication with guests and staff.
• Ability to input data into MICROS accurately.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

TO provide exceptional and attentive guest service in accordance with Omni standards at Tide Coastal Kitchen, a refined poolside retreat elevated above the Intracoastal on the 10th floor, while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for every guest.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards
• Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni
• Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership
• Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
• Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner
• Adhere to cash handling standards
• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
• Station set-up and breakdown/side-work
• Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 year serving experience
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines
• Previous cash handling experience required
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
