Qualifications

Responsibilities

Join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Eugene as a Server/Bartender. You will create exceptional dining and drink experiences for our hotel guests by delivering warm hospitality, crafting quality beverages, serving great food, and keeping our lounge area clean and welcoming.

Part-time available. Great for a college student!

What You'll Do

• Warmly greet guests, share menu specials, make food/drink recommendations, and accommodate dietary or allergen needs.
• Prepare handcrafted cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty barista/espresso coffee drinks following standard recipes.
• Serve orders promptly, check in on guests to ensure satisfaction, and process payments accurately through the POS system.
• Check valid IDs, follow state and local liquor laws, monitor guest intoxication levels, and ensure safe service.
• Perform opening, running, and closing shift duties, including cleaning service stations, washing glassware, and stocking inventory.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen staff, supervisors, and fellow team members to keep operations running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Food Handler's Card / ServSafe Certification and a State Alcohol Service Permit (must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol).
• Prior experience in restaurants, hotels, or bartending is preferred.
• Knowledge of classic cocktails, basic barista/espresso tools, POS systems, and basic cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying items weighing 20-25 lbs (trays, glassware racks) and occasionally up to 50 lbs (ice buckets, supplies).
