The Inn at Little Washington, located in the Blue Ridge mountains, seeks an entry-level Front of House team member to support daily service and deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond experience. You will assist the Dining Room team, maintain service areas, and help ensure flawless guest interactions.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with Forbes Standards.
• Bilingual in Spanish or French preferred.
• Certification in alcohol awareness program.
• Certification in CPR.
• Prior experience with Resortsuite and Tock.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic dining room/phone standards and etiquette.
• Polishes/sorts/distributes glasses and silverware; identifies types of glassware and silverware.
• Recognizes linens and folds for all shifts; strips linens daily for service.
• Knows table numbers and can clear/set/reset tables (Breakfast/Tea/Dinner).
• Knowledge of garden setup/breakdown (including fire-pit seasonally).
• Storage of flowers and setup/breakdown.
• Locates and retrieves ice; routinely refills ice.
• Can break down dishes in wait station #4.
• Able to reset tables to pristine condition.
• Maintains organization in WS4.
• Understands property layout and room locations.
• Demonstrates understanding of The Forbes Travel Guide’s standards.

SUMMARY

This is an entry level position assisting in daily Front of House operations to deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 3-Michelin Star experience to all guests. Maintain all aspects of the service areas. Serve as a support to the Dining Room team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic dining room/phone standards and etiquette
• Expediently and with great skill performs polishing/sorting/distributing all types of glasses and silverware/Ability to identify various types of glassware and silverware
• Recognizes all linens and folds for all shifts. Strip linens daily for service
• Demonstrates knowledge of table numbers
• Able to clear/set/reset a table (Breakfast/Tea/Dinner)

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
• Certification in alcohol awareness program

• Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.

• Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and climbing
