Job summary

The Inn at Little Washington is seeking a Front of House assistant to support daily operations and ensure a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 3-Michelin Star experience for all guests. You will help maintain dining room standards, assist the Front Server, and help with service details such as orders, beverages, and guest tours.

Ideal candidates are highly communicative, well-groomed, and reliable with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Must be at least 16 years of age and presentable.
• Reliable transportation required to report to shifts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain cleanliness.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dining environment.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily Front of House operations to deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 3-Michelin Star experience.
• Maintain service areas and dining room, support Front Server.
• Enter orders accurately and efficiently.
• Refill water pitchers and replenish silverware as needed.
• Communicate needs to the kitchen and reset sections as required.
• Deliver coffee/tea, cookies, and menus; guide house guests through rooms and history.
• Assist with front desk tasks as needed and support Forbes Travel Guide standards.

Summary

Assist in daily Front of House operations to deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 3-Michelin Star experience to all guests. Maintain all aspects of the service areas and dining room. Serve as a support to the Front Server.

Essential Functions

• Able to enter orders correctly and efficiently
• Able to maintain orderly side stands
• Will routinely refill water pitchers
• Replenish the drawer with proper silverware
• Consistently clear the section as needed
• Communicates to the kitchen with the needs of the section
• Spearheads resetting within the section
• Able to deliver of coffee/tea orders, cookie boxes, and menus for the section
• Able to provide house guests with a check-in tour and accurately discuss the rooms and history
• Can function as the Closing Team Leader (CTL)
• Capable of assisting the front desk with a variety of needs (SOF’s, assisting valet, welcome cocktail, etc.)
• Demonstrates excellent understanding of The Forbes Travel Guide’s standards

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos
• Must have reliable transportation

Desirable

• Familiarity with Forbes Standards
• Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
• Certification in alcohol awareness program
• Certification in CPR
• Prior experience with Resortsuite and Tock
• Basic wine knowledge

• Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
• Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation
• Ability to speak using clear and professional language
