Job summary

The Tillery Restaurant & Lounge, part of Crescent Hotels Group in Owings Mills, MD, is seeking a Food Runner available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to join our upscale dining team.

Responsibilities include deliveringfood, clearing tables, and assisting staff to ensure a premium guest experience. Candidates should be able to work varied shifts and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
• Must meet state legal age requirements and be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

Job description

Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends.

Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Clean off all plate and glassware from tables that have left.
• Re-set the table in the restaurants style, make sure the table is set properly and clean.
• Make sure the chairs and floor area around the table is clean, bring all dishware to the dish area for cleaning.
• Re-stocking service stands.
• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
• Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
• Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
• Making sure the beverage station was full (coffee, tea etc.)
• Emptying trash, bring clean glassware to the bar area, getting ice, bring the linen, and fold napkins.
• Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
• Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
• Make sure families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
