Job summary

Ancho & Agave in Bloomington, IL is hiring Servers to join our team for part-time shifts. You will greet guests, explain menus, take orders, and deliver food and drinks with a friendly smile.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of table-service experience, a valid alcohol certification, and strong English communication. POS experience, wine knowledge, and the ability to work weekends/evenings are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a server in a table-service restaurant.
• Weekend, evening and holiday availability.
• Valid alcohol certification.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of wine and spirits.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic bookkeeping and cash handling knowledge.
• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Stamina to stand for long shifts and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide menu assistance.
• Present specials and answer ingredients questions.
• Take orders and deliver food and beverages.
• Ensure guest satisfaction with a warm, friendly service.
• Handle cash and credit payments accurately.

Job Shift: Open Availability

Server Responsibilities

• Greeting guests
• Offering menu assistance
• Presenting menu specials
• Answering guests' questions about ingredients and menu items
• Order taking
• Delivering food and beverages
• Making sure guests' meals and their experience is as perfect as possible
• Serving guests with a warm, friendly smile
• Guest retention
• Cleaning
• Sanitizing
• Side work
• Teamwork of all varieties
• Reporting thoroughly to management
• Being responsible for cash and credit payments
• etc.

Server Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Server in a table-service restaurant, preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Elevated knowledge of wine & spirits.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills.
