JOB SUMMARY:
The restaurant server at the Prelude or Northbox in War memorial, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service throughout the entire dining experience to ensure a first-class guest experience and the highest level of satisfaction possible. As a server, you are responsible for welcoming guests, taking orders accurately, delivering food and beverages efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. You are also expected to assist with restaurant setup and closing duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Restaurant Server is responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Greeting and seating guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders and entering them into the POS system.
- Delivering food and beverages promptly to guests.
- Clearing and resetting tables, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next guests.
- Assisting in running food from the kitchen to the dining area as directed.
- Providing tableside beverage service, including pouring wine, water, coffee, and tea.
- Recommending menu items, answering questions about dishes, and addressing guest concerns.
- Maintaining knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and any dietary options.
- Assisting with restaurant setup, including arranging tables, chairs, and place settings.
- Cleaning and organizing the dining area and workstations throughout and after service.
- Using the POS system to process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and tips.
- Supporting team members with opening and closing duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.
- Adhering to all health and safety standards, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of customer service or hospitality-related experience (restaurant experience preferred)
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
- Must have regular email for scheduling.
- Friendly, professional, and outgoing demeanor with the ability to interact with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Ability to adapt to guest, client, and restaurant needs as required.
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8-12 hours during shifts.
- Ability to lift up to up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting to serve guests or handle equipment.
- Carrying and balancing heavy trays with food and beverages.
- Must be able to go up and down stairs as needed
- Reliable transportation is required
- Food Handler Certification is required (or must be obtained before starting work).
ABILITIES:
- Lift, push, pull, or carry equipment as needed for restaurant operations.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
- Carry and balance large and small trays with food and beverages.
- Self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Develop cooperative working relationships with team members.
- Follow instructions and comply with all standards and policies of the War memorial.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequent use of stairs, including carrying trays, dishes, and supplies up and down.
- Adaptability to moderate to extreme temperature changes.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels during peak hours.
- Working in a fast-paced environment, particularly during busy meal services
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting to serve guests or handle equipment.
- Lifting and moving supplies, chairs, and tables as needed (up to 50 pounds).
