Job summary

Hoffbrau Steaks in Amarillo, TX is seeking friendly restaurant staff to join our team as a server. You will take orders, answer questions about menu and drinks, and enter orders into the POS system while delivering a welcoming guest experience.

You will serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, maintain knowledge of menus, handle payments, and keep a clean, safe work area. The role requires 18+, English proficiency, flexible shifts, and the ability to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with guests to take food and drink orders, using the POS system to enter orders.
• Answer guest questions about food, beverages, and our facilities in a friendly manner.
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in line with company policies.
• Develop relationships with guests and ensure their satisfaction.
• Deliver orders to tables promptly and maintain area cleanliness and organization.
• Process credit card transactions following company standards and handle cash change accurately.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, recipes, and service standards.
• Perform side work and keep the work area clean and stocked for opening, mid-shift, and closing.
• Support management by performing additional duties as requested and ensuring sanitation and safety are maintained.

Primary Job Functions:

• Communicate with guest to compile food and drink order.
• Answer guest questions about food, beverages, and our facilities accurately and in a friendly manner.
• Key guest’s food and drink order into POS system.
• Serves alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards.
• Develops relationships with guests.
• Identifies food orders when ready and delivers items to tables in a timely manner.
• Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Ensures that guests have a positive and memorable experience at Hoffbrau Steaks.
• Make appropriate change when necessary.
• Process credit card transactions in accordance with company standards.
• Maintains full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information.
• Constantly increasing knowledge of food, beverages, and other products and services.
• Does side work during non-busy hours.
• Maintains a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
• Prepares work area for opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance with company standards.
• Performs additional responsibilities, as requested by the management team.
• Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must clearly speak and write English.
• Required to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays.
• Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Required to purchase appropriate uniform upon hiring.
• Required to stand, walk, lift, climb stairs and bend for long periods of time.
• Must be able to change kegs out when necessary.

Certifications and/or Testing Required:

• Maintains a current TABC serving permit and food handler’s permit. Must be able to follow appropriate serving practices as outlined by TABC and company policy
