Job summary

The University of Virginia Library seeks a Serial Cataloging Coordinator in the Resource Acquisition & Description department to coordinate the receiving, processing, and cataloging of serials, periodicals, and standing orders from around the world. Work includes quality control, vendor liaison, and MARC records maintenance within the ILS.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree (or relevant experience) and at least two years of library experience, with preferred expertise in serials

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least two years of library experience.
• Experience processing serials, periodicals, and standing orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving, processing, and cataloging of serials globally.
• Perform quality control reviews and correct shipment/invoice records with vendors.
• Maintain MARC serial holdings in the ILS and provide training when needed.
• Communicate serial control concerns to staff and vendors internally and externally.
