Job summary

The University of Virginia Library seeks a Serial Cataloging Coordinator to manage the intake, processing, and cataloging of serials, periodicals, and standing orders from around the world. This role ensures quality control and partners with vendors on shipments and invoices, serving as the point of contact for serial control inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• At least two years of library experience.
• Experience with serials, periodicals, and standing orders (continuations) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving, processing, and cataloging of serials, periodicals, and standing orders.
• Perform quality control reviews and work with vendors to correct shipment, invoice, and record errors.
• Communicate concerns or changes to staff and vendors both internally and externally.
• Contribute to ILS maintenance of electronic MARC serial holdings and provide training when needed.
• Work within Resource Acquisition & Description to support UVA's research and teaching mission.
