Job summary

Our client, a biotechnology leader in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a System Engineer- Hardware Support to join the troubleshooting team and support the Roche Sequencing Platform and Sample Prep platform. This long-term contract role requires the candidate to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple issues simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will hold a BS degree in Bioengineering or a related field with 1-2+ years of experience in microfluidics/diagnostic systems, strong

Qualifications

• BS degree in Bioengineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 1-2+ years of experience in relevant engineering field.
• Experience troubleshooting microfluidics, diagnostic systems, or NGS systems.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis of data.
• Familiarity with Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on the Roche Sequencing Platform and Sample Prep platform to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues and propose solutions to common failure modes.
• Support lab teams with hardware/software and assay-level troubleshooting.
• Execute experiments and testing protocols to verify platform functionality.
• Communicate findings across system, device, instrument and reagent teams during root cause investigations.
• Assist in instrument development in a fast-paced environment.
• Apply statistical methods to analyze system performance.
