Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 in Huntsville, AL to lead the Sentinel program’s system engineering team. The role balances functional leadership with hands-on technical work and requires a strong background in MBSE, interfaces, requirements and verification planning.

Ideal candidates have a Secret clearance, ICBM experience and demonstrated ability to mentor diverse teams while delivering on schedule and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required.
• 1 year of ICBM experience (MMIII or Sentinel).
• 2 years of MBSE experience using SysML/DoDAF in Cameo or Rhapsody.
• Sentinel special program access (PAR) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functionally manage a team of systems engineers, including goal setting and performance reviews.
• Define work scope, assign tasks, and ensure traceability to baselines.
• Review verification content and governance artifacts for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide program status updates to senior leadership and government customers.
• Mentor and coach team members to develop skills and career growth.
• Balance functional homeroom leadership with technical project assignments on SDS projects.
