Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, Utah is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer (T01) or Systems Engineer (T02) to develop payload models for simulation and evaluation of hardware performance. The role requires a US citizen with an active Secret clearance and involves 10% travel.

The team focuses on Sentinel Payloads Modeling, Simulation and Analysis, providing opportunities to work across system integration, verification, and validation while supporting derivation of lower-level requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience or coursework related to electromagnetic radiation (optical, infrared, radar).
• Experience or coursework modeling systems with coding languages (Python, Matlab, C++, etc.).
• Experience or coursework related to kinematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop Payload models to simulate and evaluate hardware performance.
• Perform model validation of various Payloads through test and analysis.
• Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for missile system payloads.
• Perform analysis to support derivation of lower level requirements.
• Verify Payload specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis.
• Generate Threat Models.
• Generate and analyze radar and optical signatures of payload objects.
• Analyze exo- and endo-atmospheric trajectories.
• Generate discrimination algorithms.
• Review test plans and support testing to ensure proper data objectives are met to validate models.
• Create analysis documents, verification and validation (V&V) plans, and V&V reports.
• Present analysis results to both internal and external stakeholders.
