Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD is seeking engineers and scientists to join the Sensor Systems Group. You will engage with a team to develop sensor systems, analyze models, and prototype signal processing algorithms for defense applications.

You will work on machine learning for radar capabilities, test fixtures, and data-driven approaches, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and pursue advanced security clearances.

Qualifications

  • PhD or expected PhD in a technical field listed.
  • Experience with sensor systems, radar, or RF domains is preferred.
  • Strong data manipulation and ML skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze models of next generation radar and sensor systems.
  • Prototype novel signal processing algorithms for military deployment.
  • Apply machine learning to augment capabilities.
  • Fabricate test fixtures to support test events.
  • Apply data science to large datasets.
  • Test radar systems to meet requirements.
