Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking students and early-career engineers to join a summer team focused on radar and sensor systems. You will work with engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and scientists to develop models, prototype algorithms, and apply data science to defense-related projects.

You’ll analyze radar performance, fabricate fixtures, and test systems to meet stringent requirements while pursuing an engineering or physics degree with strong problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Passion for problem solving and analysis.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Able to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date; eligible for Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze models of radar and sensor systems.
  • Prototype signal processing algorithms for military use.
  • Apply machine learning to augment capabilities.
  • Fabricate test fixtures to support test events.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets with data science methods.
  • Test radar systems to ensure they meet requirements.
