Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks engineers, physicists, mathematicians and computer scientists to advance sensor systems for national defense. You will contribute to signal processing, data fusion, and multi-domain targeting across air, sea, land and space, collaborating in a high-performance computing environment.

Qualifications

  • You meet our minimum qualifications: BS in Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical discipline.
  • You must be able to obtain Interim Secret and eventually Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
  • You’ll go above and beyond with MS in Engineering/Math/Physics or related internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply novel signal and data processing algorithms for detection, tracking, and characterization of threats.
  • Develop and analyze advanced algorithms to fuse active, passive, multi-band, and multi-static sensor data.
  • Optimize multi-sensor architectures by defining integration, tasking, and coordination for high-quality fused information across domains.
  • Apply AI and machine learning to sensing and data analysis.
  • Perform data science and statistical analysis on large datasets.
  • Design and simulate sensor architectures in a high-performance computing environment.
