Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites PhD graduates to join our advanced sensor technology team in the Baltimore–DC area. You will work on radar, RF systems, phased arrays, EO/IR, and real-time software within a collaborative environment.

This role focuses on design, testing, and development of algorithms and hardware, with opportunities to contribute across APL and sponsor projects in a security-cleared context.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Strong background in signal processing, RF systems, electromagnetics, communications, real-time software, firmware, or packaging/engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual design and analysis of sensor components, subsystems and systems.
  • Fabrication and testing of experimental hardware.
  • Developing advanced algorithms and techniques.
  • Assessing system-level performance improvements from technology advancements.
