Job summary

Jobot is seeking a business-minded Assistant Controller in Lenexa, KS to lead day-to-day accounting operations, own the monthly close, and improve financial reporting. You will partner with the Controller and operations leaders to drive profitability and accuracy of the general ledger.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of accounting leadership, a CPA, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and own the monthly close.
• Own financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Partner with the Controller and operational leadership to drive profitability and financial performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, KPI analysis, and margin analysis.
• Establish internal controls, audits, and reporting packages; develop scalable processes.

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience preferred
• CPA with public accounting experience and strong GAAP knowledge
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
• Strategic, hands‑on operator with strong communication skills and the ability to partner with operations leaders
• High ownership, urgency, and accountability
