Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) seeks a highly skilled Mainframe Senior Engineer to maintain customer environments and resolve complex issues. You will plan migrations, manage backups, and expand z/Series systems with strong networking and storage experience.

The role requires 10+ years in mainframe engineering, with hands-on knowledge of z/OS, JES2, RACF, CICS/IMS/DB2, and VM tape libraries. Remote work is supported; travel may be required. Competitive compensation and benefits available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Mainframe experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise with z/OS, JES2, RACF, SMP/E and OS upgrades.
• Experience with CICS, IMS, DB2 and MQ Series subsystems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform reporting functions as required or requested by customer.
• Support cases and incidents not solvable by Ops.
• Installation, maintenance and configuration of ISV products.
• Assist with hardware configuration and upgrades.
• Migrate customer environments with minimal impact.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Help customers migrate to FNTS or remote management setup.
• Implement new technologies per team roadmap.
• Install OS and major subsystem releases with customer coordination.
• Maintain golden/sandbox templates for deployments.
• Participate in technical projects as Mainframe SME.
• Occasional after hours and weekend support.
