Job summary

Astemo Americas, Inc. seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to support technology development for automotive inverters.

You will work with a global team to design and develop inverter power control units meeting customer requirements in a hybrid on-site work structure (2-3 days on-site). The role involves leading inverter development activities, coordinating with OEM customers and US/Japan teams, and contributing to validation, production launch, and cost analyses.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in automotive powertrain design, drive Inverters preferred.
• Experience with 3-D CAD and 2-D drawings.
• Mechanical CAE experience (thermal, structural).
• Fluent in English; Japanese language skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technology development for new xEV inverter business in Astemo Americas.
• Plan and manage activities for multiple projects to meet goals on schedule.
• Use customer requirements to provide optimum inverter design with global teams.
• Coordinate technical communication between OEM customers and US/Japan design teams and suppliers.
• Participate in design improvements, validation, and production launch activities for xEV inverters.
