Job summary

Astemo America is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to drive technology development for automotive inverter systems. You will collaborate with a global team to interpret customer requirements and translate them into robust inverter designs for the xEV powertrain.

Responsibilities include managing multiple projects, performing data-driven design iterations, and preparing technical documentation. Hybrid work arrangement offered with global collaboration across US and Japan teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Minimum 5 years of practical work designing automotive powertrain components (drive Inverters preferred).
• Experience with 3-D CAD creation and 2-D drawing creation.
• Experience with Mechanical CAE (thermal, structural).
• Understanding of electrified vehicle systems and integration.
• Experience interfacing with customers and/or suppliers to explain technical documents/drawings.
• High level technical problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing projects from concept through execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support technology development activities for new xEV Inverter business in Astemo Americas.
• Plan and manage activities for multiple projects to meet goals within timeframes.
• Evaluate customer engineering requirements and coordinate with the global team on inverter design.
• Facilitate technical communication between OEM customers and US/Japan design teams, manufacturing sites, and suppliers.
• Participate in design improvements, validation, and production launches for xEV inverters.
• Create and oversee technical specifications for product design.
• Provide on-site support to manufacturing sites for engineering duties during sample and mass production timing.
• Support pricing, quoting, and cost investigation activities.
• Prepare technical data documents using standard office and CAD software.
• Research and develop advanced engineering solutions for automotive inverters.
