Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking an experienced power electronics engineer to support technology development for automotive inverters and traction systems.

You will collaborate with a global team to translate customer requirements into hardware designs, simulations, and validation plans for LV/HV automotive power electronics. The role emphasizes cross-functional work with design, manufacturing, and customers, with a hybrid on-site schedule and occasional international travel to support product

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years practical experience designing automotive power electronics analog and digital circuits.
• Minimum 5 years product experience with traction inverter hardware design.
• Embedded hardware design experience for automotive power electronics.
• Knowledge of inverter design, gate drive, and motor control circuits.
• Fluent in English and Japanese.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support development/localization activities for xEV traction inverter power electronics.
• Plans and manages activities for multiple projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within a prescribed timeframe.
• Receive, evaluate, and utilize customer engineering requirements and work with global team to provide optimum inverter design for each change/application.
• Facilitate accurate & timely inverter program technical communication between OEM customers to the US / Japan design teams and related Astemo manufacturing sites.
• Travel internationally may be required as business conditions dictate.
