Job summary

UC San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a workforce analyst within the People Analytics team. You will support workforce reporting, analytics, and metric development across UCSF, partnering with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate questions into reporting solutions that inform operational decisions.

The role covers workforce demographics, movement, HR analytics, learning and compliance, engagement, and governance, and involves refining analytic SQL and producing scalable, governed data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
• 2+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries with joins, CTEs, and window functions; Python or similar scripting language preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience developing reports from large data sets.
• Experience translating business questions into analytic approaches and working with business owners.
• Familiarity with dimensional modeling, data transformation, and documenting business logic for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine complex TSQL queries to integrate multiple data sources for actionable insights.
• Produce analytics-ready reporting using AI-augmented platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, Databricks.
• Plan workflows and optimize analytics processes for scalability and governance.
• Document analytics approaches to enable validation and replication by engineers.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to productionize analytics assets and ensure data quality.
